    Question

    Just to summarize it:

    The Magistrate:
    • Skye
    • Lian
    • Ash
    • Viktor
    • Buck
    • Vivian (not confirmed)
    • Terminus (revived as golem)

    The Resistance:
    • Inara
    • Cassie
    • Tyra (after defection)
    • Barik
    • Ruckus (not confirmed)
    • Ying
    • Sha-Lin
    • Terminus (before being killed)
    • Willo (not confirmed)

Other characters were not shown, so it's not possible ATM to confirm if they belong to a part or the other.
As for me, I don't know where to side: controlling magic is not bad, but controlling only for gathering more power against peasants (and alike) IS bad. I'd rather wonder if the Magistrate was tainted by evil forces...

If you've read the whole lore, Seris and Jenos are for the resistance. Grover, Grohk, Pip and Mal'damba on their own against the Magistrate. As I've linked before...

Actually, Seris doesn't care, the only resistance tie she has is helping Cassie, and that's probably because of an "opportune moment to change the course of events toward some unknown but seemingly inevitable fate". Same for Jenos, it just says he's in the way because ooooooooh magical god things that only I, the best healer can understand, he's not part of any side.

Pip is actually part of the resistance, Pip is referenced as being allied with them.

    Grohk, I have no idea.

I would describe Damba as more like a one-man religious extremist, Wekono just puppets him to wreck havoc over anything that doesn't worship her, and she's the goddess of "Sorrow and Revenge", so most likely neither.

Hard to believe though that he would serve(!) the magistrate. Maybe he doesn't like what they did with Terminus. Or he is indeed following his own agenda to prevent abuse of the new crystal magic.

I wonder how the nature boys would cope with this war. I mean Willo and the summer court are against both sides just to protect nature (according to her lore entry). Poor fairies won't stand a chance with just 3 years of life and against two major factions...

From what lore says, Torvald doesn't care, as long as someone pays for his studying... :-/

The magistrate does that to him so that's why he's sided with it.

Personally, I would like Torvald to someday betray the Magistrate and join the Paladins, as they seem to have the higher moral standard at the very least.
    Congratulations, you've noticed my post.

If he does that the Magistrate will lose one of the few known crystal engineer. That could be the end of the war and the Resistance should win it.

Or he gains influence on the Magistrate and can make them change their policy. I am wondering who did this thing with Terminus? There are not many specialists for crystal magic it seems.
