Thread: Character Concept - Rakelez/Zelekar, The Moonborn Wilder (Support/Tank)

    Character Concept - Rakelez/Zelekar, The Moonborn Wilder (Support/Tank)

    A random idea that just spawned into mind, let's see if I can't let out this wild thought into a blank text file to play.

    DESCRIPTION

    With medium-brown skin and black hair, this stern yet serene man wears armor composed of metal, hide and fur, and he has a pair of metallic bracers on his arms, with a matching diadem. Both bracers and diadem have pale crystals on them that glow when he uses abilities. In his human form, he's a healer and protector. Rakelez (Ra-kull-ezz) by name, he's a high priest to the goddess Nyx, mistress of night.

    However, he contains within him a gift bestowed by his goddess - A beast within, veiwed by many as a curse, part wolf and part ape. In this form, named Zelekar (Zay-lick-arr), he's larger and more durable, stronger and more mobile, but he can't heal others.




    ABILITIES

    Note: You begin each match in Rakelez form as default.

    Health: 2200 (Rakelez) / 4000 (Zelekar)

    Movespeed: 320 (Rakelez) / 400 (Zelekar)

    Left-Click:
    Sacred Spear (Rakelez) - Rakelez hurls a spear of moonlight out to long range that burns his foe, dealing 300 damage initially, plus 10 damage every 0.1s for 3s afterwards. He can hurl nine spears before needing to reload, which takes 2s.

    Savage Claws (Zelekar) - Zelekar lunges at foes and rakes them with his claws; He dashes 10 units and deals 750 damage to enemies he collides with before a 1s reload. This reload is affected by Deft Hands and so forth.

    Right-Click:
    Beast's Blessing - Rakelez grants a single target 20% increased movespeed, 10% damage boost and 10% damage reduction from medium range, lasting for 4s with a 6s cooldown.

    Beastrend - Zelekar lowers for 1s and then pounces, dashing forward out to 40 units, and if he collides with an enemy, he roots them and deals 6 ticks of 225 damage over the 2s duration of the skill. After the duration ends, the target's armor is compromised, causing them to take 25% more damage from all sources for 4s. This skill has a 10s cooldown.

    F Key:
    Night's Grace - Activating this skill sends Rakelez into a dodge roll that moves him 15 units. For the next 6 seconds, he gains a 30% bonus to both movement speed and jmp height, and he can roll up to two more times. The ability ends when the duration runs out or all three rolls have been used, and the skill has a 14s cooldown.

    Brachiation - This skill grants Zelekar 50% increase movement speed and jump height, and if he lands on a solid terrain feature, he can climb across it and leap from it, much like Spider-Man. This lasts for 6 seconds and has a 12s cooldown.

    Q Key:
    Regrowth - Rakelez targets an area on the ground within medium range with a 45 unit radius. When he releases the key, jungle greenery springs forth. Within the radius, enemies are slowed by 30% and take 20 damage every 0.1s as long as they remain. Allies are instead healed for 15 of their maximm health every 0.1s while standing in the feild. The area of overgrowth lasts for 4s before fading, and this ability has a 10s cooldown.

    Pulverize - Zelekar targets an area on the ground within medium range. When he releases, he leaps through the air and when he lands, targets within 45 units are stunned for 2s and knocked up slightly. This ability has a 12s cooldown.

    Ultimate:
    Lunar Rebirth - With a primal cry, Rakelez turns into Zelekar or back again, cleansing all status effects and gaining a health refill in the process. This vastly alters his abilities.


    CARDS

    LEGENDARY CARDS

    • Disciple Of Beasts (Lunar Rebirth) (Default Legendary) - As Rakelez, your outgoing healing is increased by 20%. As Zelekar, you gain 10% damage reduction.

    • Wild Thing (Regrowth/Pulverize) - Regrowth and Pulverize both have 2 charges, but their cooldowns are increased by 2s.

    • Unchained (Night's Grace/Brachiation) - You gain CC immunity during Night's Grace/Brachiation.



    Beast's Blessing/Beastrend:

    • Hunter's Fury - EPIC - Increases the movement speed bonus, damage bonus and damage reduction bonus of Beast's Blessing by 5%/10%/15%/20%, and increases the damage dealt by Beastrend by 5%/10%/15%/20%.

    • Lunacy - RARE - Reduces the cooldown of Beast's Blessing/Beastrend by 1s/2s/3s/4s.

    • Primal Hunger - COMMON - Grants the target of Beast's Blessing 5%/10%/15%/20% lifesteal, and heals you for 5%/10%/15%/20% of the damage dealt by Beastrend.

    • Pack Howl - COMMON - Increases the duration of Beast's Blessing/Beastrend by 0.5s/1s/1.5s/2s.


    Night's Grace/Brachiation:

    • Rewarded Grace - COMMON - Heals you for 50/75/100/125 per second during Night's Grace/Brachiation.

    • Moonbeam - EPIC - Increases the movement speed and jump height bonuses of Night's Grace and Brachiation by 5%/10%/15%/20%.

    • Primal Step - COMMON - Increases the duration of Night's Grace and Brachiation by 0.5s/1s/1.5s/2s.

    • Hunter's Fleetness - COMMON - Reduces the cooldown of Night's Grace and Brachiation by 1s/2s/3s/4s.


    Regrowth/Pulverize:

    • Silent Night - EPIC - Enemies affected by Regrowth or Pulverize are Silenced for 1s/2s/3s/4s.

    • Spring In The Air - COMMON - Heal for 50/100/150/200 per second during Regrowth, and heal for 50/100/150/200 for each target hit by Pulverize.

    • Long Shadows - RARE - Increases the radius of both Regrowth and Pulverize by 5/10/15/20 units.

    • Vigorous - RARE - Reduces the cooldown of Regrowth and Pulverize by 1s/2s/3s/4s.


    Weapon/Armor:

    • Weapon: Thick Pelt - RARE - Gain 5%/10%/15%/20% damage reduction while reloading.

    • Armor: Indomitable - COMMON - Increases your base health by 100/200/300/400 as Rakelez and by 150/300/450/600 as Zelekar.

    • Armor: Defiant Disciple - COMMON - Gain 10%/20%/30%/40% increased healing when below half health.

    • Armor: Bloodied Teeth - COMMON - Kills and Eliminations reduce active cooldowns by 10%/20%/30%/40%.


    DEFAULT LOADOUT

    Legendary: Disciple Of Beasts
    Cards: Silent Night II, Thick Pelt III, Primal Hunger II, Rewarded Grace III, Defiant Disciple II.

    So you have the change characters ability on the ultimate.
    You can't change fast.
    When you choose the champ who's gonna come up by default? Rakelez or Zelekar?
    When you change to a character you have to stick to that role
    Because the change ability is on the E.


    Lol I just noticed Rakelez is Zelekar backwards lol nice touch

    The default begins as Rakelez (Which I should note, actually; Thanks for mentioning that). And while i haven't laid out the specifics, this character was intended to have a faster ult charge rate than other champions, similar to Seris.

    Oh okay.
    The ult is really useful when you're almost dying but your healer is no there.
    But you'll change forms.
    New players can probably be confused at first with this but I think a changing character/abilities is a good idea.
    So you can play two different playstyles at one game.

    Rakelez is so slow like turtle/sloth slow.
    320 is not a normal speed. Start from 370 to up.
    Zelekar is a tank
    The speed should be 375 to 360 because that's the normal speed for tank

    The speed difference is intentional; Rakelez is slower and has lower health, as a support, and is meant to balance out what he can grant to allies, like with other healers. He's by no means weak on his own, but almost like Inara, rather than trying to move faster than foes, he can use his Overgrowth to slow his foes down while he escapes. He does have a movement skill, but that's because unlike Inara, he has no damage reduction or shield to save him from things like Viktor's ult that other characters can simply dash, blink or roll away from.

    Zelekar is somewhere between damage and tank, meant to punish enemies and not much else. Zelekar's speed naturally being faster makes him harder to deal with. Zelekar's evasive skill, Brachiation, lets him climb and jump from walls, giving him a three-dimensional movement Rakelez doesn't have. I couldn't decide between damage and tank but decided tank was better because of the high health.

    I think increasing it to around 350 rather than 320 makes sense.

    Maybe 350 is better but that would be the slowest speed there in game.

    This won't be able to work it's one thing for them to stance change ,but this is a complete character switch and the problem here with it is the health pool they would have to have the same health in order for this to actually work and their is also the problem of them having two separate cooldowns this champ wouldn't work out. This is not hate just constructive feedback.

    They could do this if they wanted to. it would just be difficult. But these types of innovative champs is what would drive the game forward, and make it different than many other games.
    For the health lets say he had 4000 health, and got damage to 2000, and he decided to switch then he would have 1100 health instead of 2200, it would go by percentage.

    Also to the author, i think his ult should be more unique.

    They could indeed do this if they wanted to, much like with Hel from SMITE. As far as the ult being unique, in addition to the change in abilities, the health refill and the status cleanse, it changes his model from a lunar priest to a more bestial form that mixes ape and wolf features. Something like this:



    What things would you suggest, to make his ult more unique in your eyes?
