    Paladins Pre-Season Open Bracket Tournaments

    Competitive Annoucement
Paladins Pre-Season Open Bracket Tournament Series

    Welcome Paladins' Fans!

Hi-Rez Studios is happy to announce that we are partnering with PaladinsWorld to bring you a pre-season open bracket weekly tournament series for Paladins, kicking off 13th and 14th February, 2016, and continuing each weekend after that until the $100,000 Qualifiers begin later this Spring.

As this is a pre-season tournament series, this will in no way affect the previously announced $100K tournament, and is not a path to the $100K.

Every weekend we will be running an open bracket tournament for both NA and EU with $1,000 prize pool to be split between the regions. Along with this cash prizing, we will have in-game Crystal prizing available. Each week will be its own standalone open bracket and does not have a large tournament format that players will be competing towards.

As Paladins is currently in its Closed Beta stages, the game will change from week-to-week and player’s will be expected to adapt. Given the Closed Beta status, we also cannot guarantee which game mode and/or map will be played each week.

At this time, the tournaments will not be streamed due to the lack of a spectator client, however; once the spectator client is live within Paladins, the option for viewers to watch live will become available.

More information around prizing, rules, team check-ins, etc. (when information becomes available) please visit http://paladinsworld.com

Will this have any impact in relation to the $100K tournament? Seeding, qualifier points, invites, etc?

@HiRezKaostic Are you going to balance out the competetive scene before this?
Right now Barik/Ruckus and Grohks ults are way overpowerd. Games go on 35-50 min becouse of the Barik shields for example.
Also you need to fix the ult timers, its not an ult its an ability with higher cooldown. Dont think that you had this in mind. Pls fix this before the tournament start!

    TL;DR
    • This is pre-season starting from 13/14 february and will happen until the qualifiers for the $100K in spring some time
    • This is SEPARATE to the 100K tournament.
    • The game WILL keep changing, Get used it
    • This has a separate prizepool ($1,000 per weekend + other goodies)

I think they first wanna watch a tournament so they can decide, what to change and what not so they get a better view on it, because in some way your right but how to adjust these things they have to see it in competitive play.
Because this is not a tournement for the money but still a beta.
I think this tournament is a smart way to notice how to fix things like this because they can see this way how to adjust to the plays of the people, the heroes and the game.
Feel free to discus this with me I like a good discussion.
p.s I'm from the Netharlands so if something is not wrote right then I'm sorry for that.
p.p.s I'm not gonna react if its only hate i like a good discussion without the hate pls. :P
