View Full Version : The game gives too much rating first matchs

I know that the game is using the chess rating system.

The problem is that when you get 200 ratings when you win your first ranked game and loses 200 if you lose you end up with players that gets carried and gets a lot of elo.

So if you win 2-3 games you are at 4 k elo.

This might be good in chess because if you win a game vs another player, then you are better than him, of cause there can be upsets.

The thing is that you are the only one that can make you win in chess.
But in here you can win if you have a better teammate.

So instead make a ranking system with ranks.

Depending on the player base have;

For each region

Gold 1 2 3
Plat 1 2 3
Diamond 1 2 3

Challenger/master or something like this, with a top 100 list.

You should be able to see which players are close to you on the leaderboard even if you are gold 3.
It makes it a lot more fun to play competitive.

Then make it so that you have to play a best of series to move up to the next rank.

Because that is the exact rating system used in LoL. :P I was just pointing out that it sounds like a half-arsed copy. Additionally, Paladins is different in that it has champion AND general rating, so that has to be taken into account as well

For some reason general rating seems more lenient with losing points than champion specific rating.
